Teaching

I teach a wide variety of philosophy courses at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Topics that I’m particularly interested in are

  • Virtue ethics
  • Intersections of ethics and economics
  • Rationality
  • Cognitive and ethical effects of art
  • The nature of truth and divine omniscience

Chaplaincy

I am a chaplain in the United States Army Reserve. I was mobilized to Fort Hood, Texas in 2003, and to Iraq in 2007. I am currently the chaplain for the 1st Brigade of the 95th Division.

Church

I am a member of NorthHaven Church in Norman, Oklahoma. NorthHaven is a welcoming community of faith that strives to be faithful to historic Baptist commitments to religious liberty.

Family

In 1984, I married Sheri. The only days that I have regretted since are the days that we have been apart. In 1992, our daughter, Rachael, was born. She is an exceptionally talented cellist and a great source of joy in our lives.
